OCTOBER 17, 2021 MEETING MINUTES
POTSDAM MIDDLE SCHOOL
MEMBERS PRESENT: Roxanne Leclerc, Janice Marlow, Marsha Evans, Laurinda Stockwell, Larry Kelley, Edie Demarse, Sarah Klock, Tracie Lucas, John Maskell, Kathy Valancius, Scott Wilhelm, Amber Gladle, Kyle Fennell, Ashley Gadway, Adrienne Smith, Paul Jones
Meeting called to order by President Roxanne Leclerc at 3:04 p.m
Previous meeting minutes and treasurer’s report reviewed. Motion to accept both reports made by Kyle and 2nd by Paul. All in favor.
Roxanne discussed an email she received from a Coach expressing concerns that many officials are not calling the double hits and carries on the 2nd and 3rd hits. The coach felt this was doing a disservice to the players and if any team ever got into the State level play, this would impact their game. Roxanne asked all officials to try to be aware and tighten the calls when needed.
Reminder that you cannot call a double hit on the 1st contact. Double contact is legal on 1st recieve…but blatant carries are not.
Roxanne shared that the NYSCVOA that officials may need to indicate if they are vaccinated or not or prefer not to disclose and provide that info to Roxanne. If you are not vaccinated or prefer not to disclose, a COVID test may need to be provided. This information will only be kept by Roxanne.

Organizational Meeting: August 8, 2022 5:00 p.m.
Interpretation Meeting: August 22, 2022 5:00 p.m.
Mid-Season Meeting: Sept 18/2022 3:00 p.m.
End of Season Meeting: October 16, 2022 3:00 p.m.
Probationary Clinics: (2 clinics) 8/11/22
2nd clinic will be announced at Organizational
Meeting.

November 2nd: Class D: 2 matches – 6/3 @ 2; 5/4 @ 1 5:00 p.m.
Class C: 2 matches – 4 @ 1; 3 @ 2 5:00 p.m.
November 4th. Class Championships
D @ 4:00 p.m.
B @ 5:30 p.m.
C @ 7:00 p.m.
November 6th. Semi-Finals
10:00 & 11:30; then Awards; then Championship game
Regionals Semi-Finals
Massena vs Section 3
Class B, C, D vs Section 7
Class C & D at SUNY Canton 5:00p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Class B & A @ OFA High School. 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.
Regional Finals will be held at Section 2
Senior Game will be held Nov 15th. This will most likely be held at Madrid Waddington as that is where is have been in the past. If any official wants to volunteer, they are welcome to do so.
Laurinda presented the Patti Baldwin nominees:
Katie Bennent – Canton; Carlie-Mae Huckle – Clifton Fine; Mackenzie Lane – FA; Alexis Callaghan – Tupper Lake
Discussion held on all candidates. Voting held and winner is Katie Bennett from Canton.
Officials nominated schools from the floor for the Sportsmanship Award: Brushton, Chateaugay, Canton and Franklin Academy. Discussion held, voting completed and winner is Franklin Academy.
Laurinda will notify winners. Janice will order all awards and flowers to be presented at Awards Night.
Probationary Candidates requested to leave room for discussion on moving to Active Status. All in favor of moving both candidates, Amber Gladle and Scott Wilhelm, to Active.
Adrienne presented Nominations for available positions. Nomination from the floor to add Scott Wilhelm for Rules Interpreter, Vice President – Laurinda Stockwell; Assignor – Marsha Evans; Director – Adrienne Smith. No contests for any position so one slate presented and all in favor.
Motion to adjourn meeting at 4:40 p.m. made by Paul and 2nd by Ashley. All in favor.
